I passed my practical test on Wednesday morning! I had roughly 30 hours of teaching - the first few weeks of learning I had 3 lessons a week and I think that I would recommend more than 1 a week to other learners! Anyway I passed my test with 14 minor faults - yipee! I wasn't on form at all though! I was nervous before the test but as soon as I got in the car I started shaking uncontrollably! I tried to get in to first gear without putting the clutch pedal right down and after my 3 point turn drove off with the handbrake half on. Hopeless! After which I started to cry (I know...) but the examiner asked me to pull over and let me sit for a few minutes and have a chat to calm down (they aren't monsters after all!) My 2 manoeuvres were a turn in the road and reverse round a corner. No emergency stop. I passed because although I was a mess and made silly mistakes, I was safe on the road and didn't put anyone in harms way. So if your test is imminent, try and work on your nerves way before your test and remember you can make silly mistakes just as long as you are safe on the road! Oh and another tip - stay in the highest gear possible, look at your revs...I got told off about going along a straight road in 3rd gear as should have gone into 4th to reduce my carbon footprint. Just waiting for my toyota aygo to arrive and then it's time for pass plus! Good luck - may the force be with you
